DPS Road Test Plano

Students obtained Learner’s Permit via Teens Drivers Ed program, must meet below documents requirements:

Eligibility/Documents Requirements:

1. Age Requirement: Must be 16 years or older.

2. Valid Learner License: You must have a valid, unexpired learner’s license that has been held for a minimum of six months. Check the date on the back of your learner’s permit.

3. Driver Education Completion: Provide evidence of completing a Driver Education course, which includes 32 hours of classroom instruction and 14 hours of behind-the-wheel training. Obtain the DE-964 Certificate from the driving school where you completed the course.

4. Verification of Enrollment (V.O.E): Required for students under 18 only. Obtain this from your high school. It expires 30 days from issuance.

5. Impact Texas Teen Driver Program (ITTD): Complete the program online. Bring the printed certificate on the day of your road test.

6. Parent Driving Log: Complete the 30 Hours Parent Driving Log. Click here to print the log.

Cost of Driving Test: $75.00

  • Includes: 1 attempt
  • Additional Attempts: $45 each

Vehicle Rental for Road Test: $30.00

Administrative Fee: $25.00 for the following:

  • Rescheduling due to non-compliance with documentation requirements
  • Rescheduling due to non-compliance with vehicle requirements
  • Rescheduling due to arriving late for the test
  • Cancelling the road test

Students Obtained Learner’s Permit via 6 hours Adult Permit Class or took Permit Test at DPS(Age 18 & up), must meet below document requirements:

 

Eligibility/Documents Requirements:

1. Valid Learner License: Must possess a valid learner’s permit.

2. Impact Texas Adult Driver Program (ITAD): Complete the online program. A printout of the completion certificate is required on the day of the road test.

3. Form 1317 (Adult Permit Class Completion Certificate): Required only for students aged 18-25.

Refund Policy

The school will retain an administrative fee and refund the remaining fee to the student. Please note that the vehicle rental fee is non-refundable. Refund processing may take up to 10 business days.

Vehicle Requirements:

  • Proof of Valid, Unexpired Automobile Liability Insurance: Must display vehicle information on the insurance card. This is required for liability coverage in case of an accident.
  • Vehicle Rental Recommendation For your safety and that of our instructor, we highly recommend renting an Asian Driving School vehicle, which is equipped with dual controls. If you choose to use your own vehicle, please note that Asian Driving School is not liable for any accidents that occur during the road test, regardless of fault.
  • Valid Registration Sticker
  • License Plates: Both front and back plates are required. Temporary plates are acceptable as long as they have a valid date.
  • Functioning Signal Lights, Horn, and Brake Lights: This includes the center brake light.

 

Once all requirements are met, the student can take the DPS Road Test at Asian Driving School. Upon successful completion, we will provide all necessary paperwork in a sealed envelope. The DPS will process your documents, take your photo and fingerprints, and issue a temporary driver’s license.
